What to Expect in Our Telehealth Outpatient Track

Access to effective care should never depend on where someone lives or their ability to travel. The Recovery Hub’s Telehealth Outpatient Track offers structured, evidence-based treatment that makes recovery accessible to people across Minnesota. Through secure virtual sessions, clients can receive the same level of care and support found in our in-person programs, all from the comfort of home.

Structure and Schedule

The Telehealth Outpatient Track follows the same clinical model as our on-site Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OP) programs. Sessions take place using a HIPAA-compliant video platform. Each week combines therapeutic group sessions, individual counseling, and education on relapse prevention, coping skills, and emotional regulation. Licensed alcohol and drug counselors facilitate all groups, promoting accountability and peer connection. Clients also meet individually with their counselor to focus on personal progress and treatment goals. Family participation is encouraged when appropriate to strengthen recovery support systems.

Participants are expected to attend from a private, quiet space with a reliable internet connection to maintain confidentiality and engagement.

Benefits of Telehealth in Addiction Recovery

Telehealth has changed how individuals access behavioral health services, making care more flexible and inclusive. Research shows that virtual treatment for substance use disorders produces outcomes comparable to in-person programs (Lin et al., 2022).

The National Institute on Drug Abuse reports that telehealth improves treatment engagement and retention, particularly in early recovery when consistent participation matters most (NIDA, 2023). A 2022 JAMA Psychiatry study found a 22% increase in participation in substance use disorder treatment through telehealth, highlighting its long-term value (Uscher-Pines et al., 2022).

Clients also report that telehealth reduces stigma and offers a sense of privacy, helping them open up more freely and stay consistent in their recovery efforts (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration [SAMHSA], 2021).

Integrated Psychiatric and Mental Health Care

Comprehensive recovery requires support for both substance use and mental health needs. Through our partnership with Agape Health & Wellness, clients in the Telehealth Track have access to psychiatric and mental health services delivered through telehealth.

This collaboration allows clients to receive medication management, psychiatric evaluations, and therapy from licensed professionals, all coordinated within their treatment plan. Agape’s clinicians work closely with The Recovery Hub team to ensure seamless communication and continuity of care. This integrated approach helps clients address co-occurring disorders, manage mental health symptoms, and sustain long-term stability.

Accessibility and Eligibility

The Telehealth Track is available to Minnesota residents who meet the clinical criteria for outpatient or intensive outpatient treatment. Each client completes an intake assessment and confirms access to a safe, private location suitable for sessions.

Telehealth treatment is covered by Medicaid and most commercial insurance plans. Our admissions team helps verify coverage and offers same-day assessments when possible, making it easier to begin care without delay.

Why Choose The Recovery Hub’s Telehealth Track

Our Telehealth Track delivers the same compassionate, clinically grounded care that defines The Recovery Hub. Clients benefit from a structured program supported by experienced professionals, access to mental health and psychiatric services through Agape Health & Wellness, and the flexibility to continue treatment from wherever they are.

We provide continuity across all levels of care, whether clients begin virtually or transition into in-person programming. Every aspect of the experience is designed to make recovery consistent, connected, and achievable.

Starting care is simple. With one call, clients can complete their assessment, verify insurance, and begin treatment without leaving home.
